To have a better life we must keep choosing how we are living” Einstein There are plenty of fantastic books on coaching and I encourage you to do your own research in the same way you would if you were seeking another professional partner – a lawyer, consultant, or a financial planner for example. Please be aware that Coaching is unregulated in Australia. It is advisable to select a coach that is accredited, and has a coaching style that suits you or your business. In order to achieve my accreditation as a Coach, I have undertaken 200+ hours on a research project, 36 hours of practical coaching training, 20 hours of being coached and mentored by an accredited coach, and 12 hours of teleclasses. I have also committed to abiding by the Coaching Standards and Ethics of the Life Coaching Academy. The coaching model I subscribe to is task oriented, with a focus on setting goals, and developing a realistic plan of action, which is monitored and modified until the desired results are achieved. Coaching fosters responsibility for our own personal development, and for our current circumstances. A coaching partnership acts like a ‘turbo-boost’ for a client’s hopes, dreams and possibilities transforming them into reality. A coaching partnership can also successfully align an employee’s outputs to the company objectives. |
